School Lunch

MSAD #33 participates in the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program at Dr. Levesque Elementary School and Wisdom Middle/High School. We provide free and reduced price meals to eligible children at both schools. We offer healthy meals to address children's health and nutritional needs. The school lunch menus adhere to guidelines from the State of Maine School Nutrition Program. School lunches must offer milk, 51% whole grain rich foods, protein, fruits and vegetables. The emphasis now being on larger serving of fruits and different vegetable grouping. Lunches must also meet limits on sodium, portion sizes, and calories which will be guided by the students' age groupings.

The State and our local Wellness Team recommend nutritious foods with fewer calories and sugar. We try to balance all of this to serve meals that meet State guidelines, are nutritious, look appetizing, and taste good.

The Maine Department of Education and the USDA are equal opportunity providers and employers.
